Article marketing is an excellent way to help your prospects to find you online. You may think that you must write articles that are similar to what you would read in trade journals and other magazines in order for this to be effective, but this is simply not the case. In fact writing like that can often be just the opposite of what you need to be successful.

Writing short, succinct articles that teach the reader something about your topic are best. Writing at the high school level will also be best, and I will discuss that in further detail. Think of your writing as an opportunity for people to get to know you better and to learn more about what you have to offer. People read articles on the internet by scanning them generally. Do not think that you have to write articles like a college professor in order to be successful at article marketing.

The minimum word count on some article directories, such as EzineArticles, is two hundred fifty words. Other sites require more words before they will accept your writing for submission. The ideal length in order to attract new prospects and clients for your business is between three hundred and four hundred words. This is the case for several reasons.

People reading online may have a shorter attention span and just want to get to the point of what they are reading. Even if they come from an academic background, they do not want to read something that takes too long or goes into that much detail. Also, many readers do not read English as their first language. Take all of this into consideration when writing on your topic.

Write in a relaxed and conversational tone. The idea is for people to get to know you better and to be able to find out more about your topic. By keeping your writing more simple you will reach more people and have more success in bring them back to your site to connect with you further.

The most important thing about article writing is that you just get started. Stop making excuses and get started. When you do you will overcome your problems with writing and with practice you will become very effective at writing articles that will give great information to your clients. The time to start is now, the longer you delay the more you will miss out.

Article marketing is a great way to drive a ton of targeted traffic to your website in a short amount of time. Article marketing has been around since the beginning of the internet and will continue to be around for many more years. The problem with article marketing is that it takes time. A lot of time. People get bored and frustrated and they just stop. But don’t stop, if you keep going the financial rewards will be great. Here are a few things you can do that will help you write your articles much faster.

Write all your titles out first – For me figuring out a title can sometimes be the hardest part. So what I started doing is writing out all my titles in advance. For instance, if I know I want to write 25 articles that day, I will sit down and write out 25 different article titles. This saves me a lot of time and I can focus more on writing the articles.

Write out 5 objections and answer each one – For every product you promote there will be common objections that people will have. For instance, they might think its too expensive or they might think the product is just like all the other products and it won’t work. It is important that you address an objection or two in every article you write. I say write out 5 so you can have a variety of objections you can use in all of your articles. Addressing objections in your articles will help with your conversion rates.

Write out 5 benefits – What can your product do for your potential customers? You need to address those benefits in your articles. Again I say write out 5 so you can switch it up in you articles. Just put one or two benefits in each of your articles. Showing the benefits will also help with your conversions.

You might have to write 30 or more articles before you start bringing in any sales. That’s why its important to have a strategy to your article marketing. Take the time to write out your titles, objections and benefits. It will save you a lot of time. As you write more articles they will get better and better and you will get better results.

Writing articles can be a hard job. At first your mind can go blank and you can write nothing. You might have an idea about an article in your mind and before you have a full paragraph written you begin to worry about your ability to finish. You may have an article idea, write it down and then realize that you have many things to say but only have half the required words written.



This is what was happening to me as I wrote. It was only after I came up with a plan that the articles began to come naturally. For instance, I wanted to write articles of approximately four hundred words. I first made up a template since I was going to submit the articles to various online publishers. The publishers allow writers room for a resource box at the end of the article so links to your website may be featured as well as your bio. So the first thing on my template is the resource block.


Next is the title, then keywords, description and finally text. Then you save the template in a file of its own. When you want to start a new article you simply open the template file, copy and paste to a new document and you are ready.


You want your title to contain the best keyword phrase first, and then the how to or whatever follows. Place the keywords next. Now you come to the description or as I call it the hook. This is where I say something and then tease the reader to read the whole article. I do not want to give the article away at this point.


Now the text. In the first paragraph or two, I want to outline a problem we may all have or a general discussion relating to the subject. I will write about one hundred words on this introduction. I try to relate my own experiences as well as those of others in order to be sure the reader and I are talking about the same situation.


The main body of perhaps two hundred words or more will outline my system of how I would fix the problem. This is where I give the solutions to the problem I outlined earlier. As I am writing this particular article, I am explaining to you how by doing the different things I do when writing an article, you may find it helpful. This is where you are telling your secrets. This is the reward to your reader for having read the article.


The wrap up tells the benefit’s the reader may derive by trying your solutions or your methods you have adopted for your project. By breaking the article into pieces you will find that writing articles will begin to flow from your mind easily. This system may work for you as well. Good luck.
