“Planned Parenthood’s Worst Nightmare”, Young Teenage Girl Responds to a Teen Vogue Article
-http://VFNtv.com
There are so many magazines published each day covering a multitude of topics and lifestyles that range for all age groups. One of these magazines is Teen Vogue. In their recent volume, Teen Vogue published an article titled, “What to Get a Friend Post Abortion”. Autumn and Students For Life responded to this outlandish article with a bold and sobering statement. Responding as one that Teen Vogue targets, teenagers, Autumn introduces herself, “Hello, I’m Autumn, and I’m 16…and since I’m a teen, this was directed at me.” She gives a brief overview of this article by stating, “The point of the article was to make the situation seem as light-hearted, and nonchalant as possible to convince girls my age that abortion is no big deal.” With that being said, she adds this important fact. “…abortion is a big deal, a very big deal.” She challenges Teen Vogue’s fantasyland description of abortion by admonishing with truth. “No one skips into that room as if they’re getting their hair highlighted or their nails painted.” She continues to express, “The thought of going into a room and having my baby surgically removed from my body is both terrifying and scary.”

If this article were not shocking enough on the surface, the list of ideas that Teen Vogue presents as viable options to the reality of “post-abortion” is additionally shocking. Autumn comments about some of these options, such as becoming an abortion escort, taking a friend to a comedy movie, or getting your friend a “GRL PWR” Hat. It is important that we know the truth behind what is being told to our teenagers.

Writing and distributing highly effective articles to blogs and directories is one of the best things that you can do to attract attention in the online arena.

This process will help you establish your authority in your niche, will help you promote product awareness, and will help you make your website more accessible to your target market.

Below are some useful, highly effective tips that can help you create memorable articles:

First thing to do is to figure out the best topics to explore. There are so many things that you need to consider when doing this. These include the needs of your target market, the kind of response you want to get from these people, and the products that you sell. Of course, you would want to stick with topics that are related to your products and services but you need to make sure that they’re interesting to your potential readers.

Talk about the problems or questions of your target audience.

You’ll most likely to get your prospective buyers to pay attention to your articles if you talk about the things that they’re going through in details. Discuss the causes of their problems and help these people understand. Through this, you can show them the depth of your knowledge in regards to this topic. When this happens, you can easily get these people to trust you.

Always use interesting titles. Don’t be in a hurry when writing your titles or headlines. Remember, these are the first things that your target audience will see so you better make sure that they will create a strong impression. They must be well-written, provoking, and benefit-driven.

Start strong. You cannot afford to lose the interest of your readers on your first paragraph.

You need to get them to read your articles until the end where they’ll usually see your sales pitch. Hold their attention by making your introduction very strong and memorable. It should leave a lasting mark on the minds of your readers. Maintain the excitement by simply making your succeeding paragraphs equally interesting and informative.

Avoid using fluffs and fillers. Just like you, online users do not have much time to waste. So, instead of beating around the bush and instead of making you articles unnecessary lengthy, tell these people what they need to know in a very straightforward manner. I’ve read one article before and the question on my mind was “does ice cube diet really works?”

The writer, instead of saying yes or no upfront, discussed the history of ice cube diet and bored me with scientific explanation. In the end, I wasn’t sure about the answer to my question. You don’t want your readers to feel this way. Remember, you cannot possibly get people to visit your website and buy from you if they’re not sure if you know exactly what you’re talking about.

The Star-Ledger Continuous News Desk reported on Thursday, April 16, 2009, two New Jersey teenagers were arrested on charges of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes after shooting a political campaign volunteer in the leg from an apartment window.

Wait a minute, was this man really shot? Was he taken to the hospital for his injuries? The answer is no, he was not injured at all, because the ‘weapon’ these teenagers used was an Airsoft-type toy gun that shoots soft plastic pellets. What happened to the days when 12-year-old kids were taught a healthy dose of respect for guns while learning fire arm safety with their Dad showing them how to shoot a .22 caliber rifle in a supervised environment? Are teenagers so different today that it is necessary to enact and enforce laws against toy guns as if they were real fire arms?

The problem that Airsoft guns create is much more complicated than the previous argument presented may suggest. It is true that Airsoft guns do not have the capability to inflict even as much injury as a teen throwing a rock, but Airsoft guns look like real guns. A teen using poor judgment could pull one out for chest pounding purposes during an altercation, and it could be mistaken for a real gun. It does not take much to envision this scenario ending in tragedy. First of all, the teen with the Airsoft gun may provoke another teen to pull out a real firearm. Also, what is a police officer supposed to do if someone reports teens chasing each other in public with what look like real fire arms? This can create a dangerous situation as was recently reported by the MI-Reporter.com.

Adequate parental supervision of teens with Airsoft guns would solve this problem outright. However we all know that teens tend to push the boundaries of parental supervision. Do there really need to be laws banning Airsoft guns, or does the law need to concern itself with public display of anything that replicates a fire arm?

Samantha Dunkin is a concerned parent of two boys who are avid airsoft players. When Samantha’s boys wanted their first airsoft guns she went into research mode. Now Sam is one of the leading advocates for airsoft safety among young people.

Married Young: Meet China's Teen Brides

Mike and Dan takes an inside look at a controversial issue: China’s Teen Brides. In small villages across the country like this one in Yunnan, Province, teenagers are getting married as young as 12 and having children as young as 13. Most of the couples range between 14-18. Some have 2 children by the time they are 16. Most or all of the women are forced to drop out of school.

This is a common practice in China’s villages even though the legal marrying age is 20 for men and 22 for women. Teen marriages are reportedly on the rise after the removal of China’s One-Child Policy.

Mike and Dan also discuss the possible reasons for this phenomenon in modern day China.
