Hey friends!! I hope this video was fun to watch and inspires you to make this next year your best year yet! What kind of things did you accomplish this year? And, like I said in the video, I'd love to know if you remember how we met or if you have a fun memory of 2018! Also, I hope you feel encouraged to chronicle your own journey in some way and write it down to mediate on and be thankful but also maybe create your own video like I did! Let me know if you do and I'd love to watch it! <3

    Here’s what I did:
    1.) Bought an iPad.

2.) Put Hanx Writer app on it. btw, you can freeze the carriage so the ‘paper’ doesn’t scroll to the side off screen! (It’s free+Comes with a free typewriter that rocks. You use it in landscape mode. Looks and SOUNDS like a real typewriter!!! To unlock other features like background color and to get more typewriters it’s a few more bucks. BUT…Ive been using them all in demo mode (free!), just cut and paste my written text to google docs.

3.) Bought an elretron Bluetooth typewriter keyboard. (Qwerky is good too, but more expensive. I think it’s metallic where electron, is more plasticky, but works very well!) I’m thinking about taking the Qwerky Writer plunge!

    4. Write!!!! With all the functionality and grace of a typewriter WITHOUT the hassle that the FreeWrite brings. (I’ll admit, I’d buy one if it were about $199, but it’s not.)

    5. I write, then copy and paste it into docs. Rinse, wash, repeat.

    *I hope this helps everyone!

I have done all that. I have a YouTube channel, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Still spinning my wheels. So I say good job.

  8. Zeldagurl4eva says:

Would Save The Cat Writes A Novel work for someone who writes using four act structure instead of three act structure?

  9. Ashley Raye says:

Very inspiring- wow! Good job! I am still working up the courage to film my first authortube newbie tag video. Soon…

  10. Chelsea says:

Great video! Thanks for sharing your journey. I just requested to join your facebook group. Looking forward to it. Question: I have an Instagram account that focuses on my art and poetry. I would like to have a fiction writing instagram account. Can you tell me if I need to change my handle on IG or can I create a second account? Thanks so much for your help.

  13. Raven Masque says:

I am a little late to this video.. But thank you. I have finally taken off the gloves and started working on my first novel. Since it has been so long since I was in college, I have been taking refresher classes in writing and reading books about it! Thank you for this video I am starting from 0, BUT I am 80% done with my first draft! Yeah me. The scene that played in my head to start the novel idea is not even apart of it:( I loved that scene too. Thank you

  14. Victorianne Castle says:

I also still don't have any writer friends.
Sighs. Been writing for years now. People who share the same interests are really difficult to find.

  15. Norbert Nicolas says:

Hey as you can see I love anime, and it's what inspired me in getting into the world of fiction, but do you think a foreigner has the chance of becoming a light novel author, I'm not good at drawing so manga's are out of the question lol.
Also what are your tips in making a sci fi or fantasy novel ?
    Thank you..watching from the Philippines

  16. HEA says:

Love the way you broke down your year in your bullet journal – I bet that's really motivating to look back on whenever you need a boost.

I am so happy I found your channel! 😀 You have inspired me to start writing regularly again and to believe in myself. Thank you for sharing your journey. 🙂

  19. Whiskey Black says:

Just subbed to your channel. Found you through the Instagram talk you did on IWriterly's channel. I'm almost finished with my 1st draft & I've been at this for 5yrs & haven't managed to accomplish nearly as much as you. I'm still really struggling to create my platform & to gain honest, interested fans. Thanks so much for your vids! I'll follow you on Instagram cause I'd love to get in on some of your challenges for this yer!

  20. Megan D says:

I loved watching this video! You’re so inspiring, and I’m just starting to build my own author platform so this really gave me the boost I needed. You’ve accomplished so much, and you have so much to be proud of! You’re such an amazing part of this writing community. <3
