Club Head Speed Differs – If you can imagine the club head speed generated by Tiger Woods when he is giving everything he has to a driver, then you can imagine the amount of compression he applies to the ball. If he is hitting a full iron shot into a green, compression will be different. If he hits a three quarter pitch shot, or a delicate pitch, the compression is less and less. The average putt has virtually no compression to speak of.

If I am playing a full iron shot I will set my club face open to the ball to target line. A three quarter shot I shall only slightly open the face and when chipping and putting I will be square to the ball to target line at address. If you stick to these basic positions you will have done all you can to set the club in a position which offers your mind the least amount of manipulation for each shot. The rest is up to your unconscious mind to learn how to send the ball to your desired target in the best possible way. Remember that golf is about setting the machine up in the best possible way, bio-mechanically and technically and then handing the job over to the unconscious mind to use that machine “setup” in order to fulfil the task you have asked it to do.

The better you “setup” the easier it is for your unconscious mind to complete the task. Golf is 90% mental and the other 10% is mechanical controlled by the mind, therefore Golf is 100% mental. However, you make the job your mind has to do easier or harder depending how you set the machine before the swing is made. The least number of working parts or manipulation needed, the better.

Additional causes of compression variation – Club Head Speed – Varies according not only to the shot you require – a full shot versus a half swing – but also depending on the individual and their ability to create club head speed.

Juniors, some beginners, some ladies and some senior players may generate very little club head speed in which case they will apply very little compression to the ball. The degree to which their club head is set open at address will be very slight.

Compression (and therefore spin rates) of golf balls differ. Hard 1 piece balls are at one end of the spectrum and soft 3 piece balls at the other end. Not only this but 3 piece balls do not all have the same compression rating. You can check with the ball manufacturer as to the compression rating of the ball you are using. Finding a ball that best suits your play and then sticking to this ball will help improve your ability to consistently square the club face at the point of separation, and your ability to judge the distances you hit the ball with all your shots, putting included.

The golf ball is greatly overlooked by the average amateur as a factor contributing to better play. Spin rates and compression ratings should be taken into account when choosing the correct ball for you. Talk to your coach and discuss what ball is best suited you your current abilities to maximise what the ball can offer to your game.

Finding the perfect job in Dubai can offer its own set of unique challenges. The UAE has not been immune to the global economic crisis and competition for available jobs is stiff. In addition, labor laws in the UAE can be confusing and seem to be in a constant flux. By educating themselves on the basics of UAE labor law, employees can avoid many common pitfalls that may arise during their time working in Dubai.

Rights that job seekers take for granted in their home country may not necessarily apply in Dubai. For example, there are no anti-discrimination laws in effect and employers can request anything from a certain nationality or age group to a certain appearance. There is also no minimum wage. An employee’s nationality is often a determining factor in the amount of pay offered, with Europeans and Arabs on the higher end of the scale and Asians on the lower end. Because changing jobs in Dubai is not a straightforward process, it is a common (although illegal) practice for some employers to hold employee passports as security against absconding.

An expatriate’s right to live and work in the UAE is tied to their sponsor, in this case the employer. Once a job seeker is hired, an employment contract will be signed. The contract is either fixed term or unlimited term. A fixed term contract means that there is a specified start date and end date. The contract cannot exceed three years, but can be renewed. Unlimited term contracts list a start date but are open-ended. They may be terminated by mutual consent or by either party giving 30 days notice. A new employee may undergo a probationary period of not more than six months. During this time the employee can be dismissed without reason or notice and he or she will not be entitled to any end of service benefits. Contracts may also include a competitive clause which states an employee cannot work for a competitor for up to two years.

Once a contract is signed the employee is legally bound to fulfill it. While laws regarding sponsorship have eased, allowing employees some movement between jobs if certain conditions are fulfilled, it still can be a challenging process. In most cases, in order to transfer to a new job the employee must complete one full year of service at their current position and obtain an NOC (No Objection Certificate) from their current employer. The NOC states that the employer releases the employee from any contractual obligations. If an employee’s work permit is cancelled without the NOC, a six month ban will be issued against the employee.

This means that while they can reenter the UAE on a visit visa during the ban, they will not be issued a new work permit for six months. There are certain categories of workers who are exempt from these rules, including employees of government departments and Free Zone areas (such as Dubai Media City, Knowledge Village, and Internet City). Free Zone workers are not under an individual company’s sponsorship, but under the sponsorship of the entire Free Zone area itself. As such, they can transfer to a new job within the same Free Zone without an NOC. Employees sponsored by their spouses also have greater freedom of movement between jobs.

While Dubai offers an exciting, multi-cultural work environment coupled with tax free income, employees do need to be aware of how job regulations can affect them. The government of Dubai is currently reviewing labor laws, particularly the six month ban rule, in light of the current global economy. Changes giving workers more rights and greater flexibility to move from one job to another may be on the horizon.

Robots – 2016 News and Articles – Robotic Technology(Full Documentary)
As humans, all of our greatest dreams and biggest fears about technology seem to be provoked by the stirring topic of robotic technologies. Robots have the potential to eliminate a great amount of monotonous work, provide assistance to human workers and serve in highly specialized environments, like hospitals or factories. At the same time, people can be concerned with how this technology will change daily life and worry about increasing isolation among humans or the loss of a job as a result.
Even major names in technology development have showed signs of being spooked by robotics. In a talk given at a technology symposium held at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk called robots the “biggest existential threat” to the human race, even arguing for national and international regulatory oversight on artificial (AI) development. Musk is even an investor in robotics, having put money into the AI development firm Vicarious, making his unease over the negative potential of robotics all the more telling.
This holiday season, robots will likely have a much higher profile than they typically enjoy. Retail stores will prove to be a major testing ground for the consumer use of robotic technologies, as Lowe’s recently unveiled a lineup of robotic sales assistants, known as OSHbots, for certain stores. The robot can communicate in multiple languages and can direct customers to the exact location of an item they’re seeking in the store. Collision avoidance and autonomous navigation technologies are incorporated into these sales assistants, helping them travel across large stores safely.
Robots have been here for a while but will likely be taking a much greater role in our daily lives. As we found in researching this technology, there are those who still believe that the utopian robotic future of The Jetsons is still very much within our grasp. In today’s article, we’ll look at some of the current activities in robotic development, break down some of the issues facing robotics technologies in our world and view some of the most recently issued patents from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to protect inventions in this field.

When publishing papers it is important to choose which journal to submit a paper to. One factor that is often considered is the impact factor of a journal, the higher it is, on the whole, the more widespread the journal. The Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) is consider the authoritative body that calculates this information. Impact Factors Citations to papers are measured according to the number of times an individual paper is cited in the source literature. A similar type of procedure can be employed to measure the Impact Factor (IF) of a journal which is regarded as an indicator of its quality. However instead of looking at total number of citations, it looks at the average number of citations for all papers published in a scientific journal over a defined period. There are actually several such measures but the most common one is a two year one. This looks at how many times papers published over a two year period have been cited in the current year. An example is as follows: Consider a journal that has published 80 papers in 2007 and 100 in 2008. Papers from 2007 are cited 260 times in all ISI source journals in 2009 and papers from 2008 are cited 100 times. This means that of the 180 papers published in 2007 and 2008 there are a total of 360 citations in 2009. Hence the 2009 IF of the journal is 360 / 180 = 2.0. Each journal’s annual IF is calculated by the ISI in the summer of the next year. Hence the 2009 results were announced in June 2010. Their database contains information for several years previously, so it is possible to see whether a journal’s influence is increasing or decreasing over time. Weakness of Journal Impact Factors The two year IF has a weakness in that papers need to be cited pretty fast after publication. For example if a paper is published in November 2007, authors of future papers have to have noticed this paper, incorporated as citations into their own papers, submitted these and then got them accepted via what is often a lengthy editorial process, and then finally even after acceptance there can be a delay until the page numbers are assigned which for some journals can run into several months by December 2009. This means that in areas where editorial decisions are slow, such as in mathematics or engineering , IFs are typically quite low, even for high quality papers. In addition in some areas there is a tradition of citing many references and publishing faster. Therefore it is not necessarily sensible to compare these from different disciplines. For example an ecology impact factor may be higher on average than a mathematics impact factor, reflecting the fact that on the whole an average journal in the area of ecology has a higher IF to one in mathematics. An alternative to the two year index has recently been developed that is based on very similar principles but looks, instead, at citations for papers published over the last five years. This allows slower evolving journals and disciplines to get a fairer assessment. This is not commonly used as yet, but can be found alongside the standard two year IF on the ISI website. Grant Applications In some countries and for many funding bodies when submitting grant applications, applicants’ publications are often listed, and it is sometimes expected additionally to state the Impact Factor of the journals that the applicant has published in. Furthermore, some even ask applicants to state how many times his or her paper has been cited and how it compares with the overall journal Impact Factor. A paper that has been cited 20 times in the last year, in a journal with an IF of 8, may be considered above the standard for that journal.
