In fact there is quite a bit of poverty in America, and this includes over 14 million children whose parents can’t afford to feed them regularly and can’t provide proper clothing, education, or health care. Unfortunately, many people believe that those who live in poverty are just stupid or lazy.

Do you really think that all of the children living in poverty are stupid and lazy? Even if it was true for their parents, which it isn’t, it is absolutely not true about the children. They are victims of circumstances that are totally beyond their control.

In the current economy, one factory shut-down can cause hundreds of intelligent, hard-working adults to be out of jobs. Unless another factory of a similar type is hiring, most of those workers are not trained to fill the types of jobs that are available. The cost of living continues to increase, and people who no longer have employment are hard-pressed to stay afloat.

Soon, homes are foreclosed on and families are out of luck. Even though the families are struggling together, it is the children who are pushed into poverty who are the innocent victims. If the cycle continues, and years of unemployment ensue, then the children have little, if any, chance of breaking out to improve things. With limited education, employment is also limited. With limited health-care, untreated illness or injury may adversely impact the ability to work.

All of this said, what is a person who truly cares about others to do? The best place to start is by helping the children. Those who cannot help themselves need the most help from others. The children who are in poverty can be helped by volunteers working with church or community groups. Many groups of this type work to alleviate the suffering of the poor children of their communities. Other charitable organizations have developed to help poverty-stricken children. They accept tax-deductable donations and use them carefully to give the biggest benefit to the children who need them.

Whether you can donate time, money, or both, the children of America need you. Yes, there are starving children in Africa, but there may be starving children within a few miles of your home. Give them the help they need and deserve by locating your favorite charitable institution that helps poor children and donating today.

The American Relief Foundation invites you to help us provide poor children around America with support they need. If you lost your car title and cannot donate we have an excellent resource to link you directly to your DMV page to order a duplicate car title. We are looking for a Harris, TX Car Donation to help our cause. If you have an unwanted car consider a charity car donation

Lissa Rankin, MD is an OB/GYN physician, author, keynote speaker, consultant to health care visionaries, professional artist, and founder of the women’s health and wellness community OwningPink.com. Discouraged by the broken, patriarchal health care system, she left her medical practice in 2007 only to realize that you can quit your job, but you can’t quit your calling. This epiphany launched her on a journey of discovery that led her to become a leader in the field of mind/body medicine, which she blogs about at OwningPink.com and is writing about in her third book Mind Over Medicine: Scientific Proof You Can Heal Yourself (Hay House, 2013).

She teaches both patients and health care professionals how to make the body ripe for miracles by healing the mind and being healthy in all aspects of life, not just by promoting healthy behaviors like good nutrition, exercise, and adequate sleep, but by encouraging health and authenticity in relationships, work, creative expression, spirituality, sexuality, finances, and living environment. She is leading a revolution to feminize how health care is received and delivered by encouraging collaboration, fostering self-healing, reconnecting health care and spirituality, empowering patients to tap into the mind’s power to heal the body, and encouraging women not to settle for being merely well, but to strive for living vital, joyful, authentic lives full of “mojo.”

When not spreading the word, she chills out, paints, does yoga, and hikes in Marin County, CA with her husband and daughter.

Healthcare Triage LIVE - Mar. 30, 2016

You can directly support Healthcare Triage on Patreon: http://vid.io/xqXr If you can afford to pay a little every month, it really helps us to continue producing great content.
TIMECODE:

1:21 – In your video on cyclamate you only talk about cancer, but according to the NCI “The FDA’s concerns about cyclamate are not cancer related.” So what are the FDA’s concerns? Should they concern me too?

2:05 – I actually get to watch live today! Aaron, quick, what is your favorite tabletop game?

3:00 – Is very high B12 (like 1500 pg/ml) for at least the last 3 years something to worry about? Doc’s (2 PCP’s and an endo) say it’s non-toxic so no worries… but I found a bunch of studies saying there is correlation with high b12 and some cancers… is cancer screening warranted?

3:58 – All right, so, some background info.
I’m 26, and I’m legally blind with Retinitis Pigmentosa. I tend to be pretty skeptical about most articles that get passed around on social networks and such. However, when it comes to stuff about vision issues, I tend to pay just a bit more attention, though I remain skeptical.
I just got the following article about an “eye acupuncturist,” and I wanted to ask in this subreddit (especially since Doc sounds pretty hoarse from his last episode.) The article: http://determinedtosee.com/?p=1633
So, on to the questions:
1: What studies are there about the effectiveness of acupuncture? From what I understand about it, it really shouldn’t do much better than a placebo, right?
2: Does anyone else think the article seems a bit suspicious, or even quackish?

7:05 – Hi, do you have any thoughts on cord blood banks? Is it just a waste of money or a great idea worth investing in? What do we know about the quality of that material after a while (say a year)? Maybe it should be considered only by families with certain hereditary conditions?

8:49 – Is there any science behind the recommendation to do 10,000 steps per day? I heard it was a marketing message from a podometer manufacturerer (edited)

10:54 – People tell me that people with pre-existing conditions die while waiting for treatment in Canada, is this just scare tactics or is there actual truth in this?

14:01 – Which is worse in the american diet? Lack of nutrients or over eating?

14:25 – I’m trans and doing HRT. When signing informed consent, it was pretty much “we have no idea what this will do in 20 years”. What research is there being done about transition medicine?

16:39 – You’ve mentioned in previous episodes that you yourself see a doctor. Why do doctors have doctors? Why don’t you treat yourself?

20:04 – Do you have any thoughts about weight loss surgery? It seems like a drastic solution but for one w/ morbid obesity and looking at the poor long-term success of just diet and exercise, it’s tempting.

20:50 – I’m always worried that I’m not getting enough fruits/vegetables. I see the recommendation of 5-10 servings a day, but I’m lucky to get 2-3. I’m pretty healthy (jogged 3 miles at 6am!) but I worry.

21:42 – How dead is brain dead?

The Wall Street Journal Published October 31, 2013 Obama’s broken health care promises — even in 2009 we knew millions would lose their health plans

For nearly four years, President Obama has frequently offered some variation of this promise about the Affordable Care Act: “If you like your health-care plan,” as he said in a speech to the American Medical Association in June 2009, “you’ll be able to keep your health-care plan, period. No one will take it away, no matter what.”

NBC News caused a kerfuffle on Monday when it reported the Obama administration knew for years that millions would be forced off their preferred insurance plan. This hardly amounts to a revelation: the president and his people, along with Democratic Party leaders, had to know that this would happen.

For example, in a Dec. 19, 2009 letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, the Congressional Budget Office noted that the Affordable Care Act would cause between eight and nine million Americans to lose their employer-provided coverage either by “the dropping of existing coverage or a lack of new offers of coverage.”

Three days before Mr. Obama signed the law, CBO and the congressional Joint Committee on Taxation reaffirmed these numbers in a March 20, 2010 letter to then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. A month later, the chief actuary at the Department of Health and Human Services’ Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services estimated that 14 million would lose their employer-provided insurance.

There were also warnings that higher premiums, mandated benefits and other regulations would cause many of the roughly 15 million Americans who individually purchase health insurance to lose their policies.

It is inconceivable that the president, his top aides and Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, didn’t know about all this. Which raises these questions: Why did Mr. Obama keep saying something that was simply not true? And how did his administration allow him to do so?

ObamaCare by the Numbers – The Republican National Committee claims that 8.2 million Americans can’t find full-time jobs “partly due to ObamaCare.” But that figure is the total number of part-time workers in the U.S. seeking full-time work. The RNC also claims 6 million retirees “will lose prescription drug coverage” under the health care law. But 6 million aren’t expected to go without drug coverage. Instead, they are expected to lose employer-sponsored drug plans and join other Medicare Part D plans instead. Read More http://www.factcheck.org/2013/08/obamacare-by-the-numbers/
