Video Summary:
Somewhere between watching a motivational video (very ineffective), or someone kicking your butt, lies the vast wasteland of hoped-for outcomes. Self-motivation is often a problematic victim of vague, wimpy goals; lack of sufficient visualization; or failing to reinforce the ratchets in your achievement.

If you’re constantly struggling to stay motivated, it may be that you have the wrong goals, or your life has the wrong purpose. If you’re trying to motivate yourself to accomplish things that don’t embrace your passion, you’ll never get far. If you’re passionless about where you’re headed, you need to pick a new direction. Examine your higher self and what your true, passionate life purpose really is.

Once your direction is aligned with your life purpose, visualize your vivid, specific, and ambitious goals for your life — the bigger the better. You need a detailed map before you can get anywhere. Picture your vision in your mind and on paper to make it more real.

Now build your vision deep into your daily life. Review it daily, post it prominently, journal about it, check in with a mentor daily — whatever it takes to keep you focused on your vision.

Dan hooks his audience in the first 15 seconds by arousing their curiosity (with his "I have a confession to make..")! Masterfully done! A great way to start his speech / presentation…

  5. Ming Hong says:

This is why teachers don't get paid well, but they are just so good at their job

  7. Chaos Lumine says:

There is never a mismatch between Science and anything. Ever. If it seems that way, its because the Science of the way things are is not clearly understood. If business are not perfectly scientific its because people are not perfectly scientific. Even faulty business practices have a Science to them. There is no "mismatch".

Also, the candle-stick problem isn't a "real problem".Humans are not supposed to know how to that kind of thing because there is hardly ever a need for it. The human mind just has no incentive to do it. It's not that people were too stupid to hang a box on a wall with thumb tacks, it was that they were given vauge instructions to do task to which they had no emotional attachment to and which they would gain no direct emotional gratification from. It was a pointless fucking task with vauge instructions. Not a real-world practical scenario.

  8. ProBenji says:

Anyone who thinks this psychology or sociology is science is a fucking dumbbell. It’s an interesting topic, but not at all a science

    Disappointing for Law students

  11. Milton Junior says:

He’s right: motivation works better when it is intrinsic rather than extrinsic. Here in Brazil, We as teachers and professors struggle to bring this issue about at school meetings as responsibilities to arouse students’ motivation has long been transferred to us.

  17. lioua lioua says:

I think that it is a matter of FOCUS :
The steak and carrot model drive our focus away from the task, while a creative work needs to be focused on, that's way spiritual learn how to do things for the sake of doing them, this is called (be present).

  18. Genaline Cabjie says:

LEO MY PARENTS SPENT THOUSANDS ON ME. I CANT JUST DROP OUT OF COLLEGE!

  22. North Wave says:

Leo, my passion is music. You can see my channel for example, yet I am in college, in my second year doing psychology and geography which I also have an interest in but I am more leaning towards the music however. I went to college because my music business has not took off the ground yet and I have heard it takes years to make it (I've been producing for about 2 years now) but anyways if I can't make money off my music I will have to attend college. I care for them too much to waste an entire year of college.

  23. North Wave says:

Leo, I am not wasting my parents money they have spent on me for college. I am going to finish this degree, I care for them too much do leave college. Im in my second year of college out of three Leo. Thanks for this Leo.
